NVC Kids

What is NVC Kids?

NVC Kids is for children from 4 months – 5th grade, where they will learn about Jesus on their level. Our mission is to create opportunities for kids to know Jesus and become like Him by teaching them God’s Word and instilling vibrant faith inside their hearts in a fun, engaging, and safe environment. Our desire is that kids will grow to love Jesus and be devoted to Him from a young age. To do this, we partner with parents to help their kids grow to know and love Jesus.

Our mission is to build kids to have unshakeable faith!

Your First Visit

We want you and your family to have an excellent experience in NVC Kids! When you arrive at Northview, be sure to enter our Family Entrance (Door 4) on the west side of our building. When you arrive, head to the “Family Check-In Center.” When you get there, one of our NVC Kids Dream Team members will ask a few questions about your family in order to help us serve you well. They’ll ask things like what allergies your child may have, birthdate, how many children are in your family, and how to contact you. Both you and your child will then get a sticker with a matching code unique to only your family. You’ll need this sticker to check-in and check-out your child to help ensure the safety of all children in NVC Kids.

Child Dedication

At Northview, child dedications are an opportunity for parents to dedicate their children to God, recognizing that they are a gift from God and declaring their lives belong to Him. It’s also an opportunity for our church to reaffirm our commitment to empowering and equipping parents to raise their children in the love of Jesus. Parent/Child Dedication is a partnership between parents and the local church to raise children to be fully devoted followers of Jesus.

Child Dedication follows the pattern of Jesus being dedicated at the temple following his birth (Luke 2:22-40) and the example of Hannah dedicating her son Samuel to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:27-28).

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. - Proverbs 22:6 NIV

Individual Child Dedications: Dedication for individual families is available most Sundays throughout the year, at both service times, with one of our staff pastors. Register at the link below to select an available date and service time.

Next Group Child Dedication: Sunday, August 6, 2023 (with Pastor Dave Leedahl)

FAQs

Have Questions?

Are there Wednesday night activities for my kids?

We offer Wednesday night Kids activities for kids 4 months-5th grade during the spring and fall semesters.

Is NVC Kids safe and secure?

Behind our secured doors are background-checked, trained leaders and parents who are ready to give your kids Jesus on their level. Outside of the secured doors, Safety Team members are monitoring the hallways, exits, security cameras, and traffic. To check your child out of the secure NVC Kids area, you are required to have the security tag with a random code matching your child’s name tag.

How can I join the NVC Kids Dream Team?

In order to serve kids and give them Jesus on their level, it takes a large team of trained servant leaders! We love that you want to serve! To serve on the NVC Kids Dream Team, please attend Growth Track to learn more about serving opportunities at Northview and in NVC Kids. | [Register for Growth Track]

What happens if I need to get my child during services?

Find an NVC Kids Welcome Team member or a Safety Team member, show them your security tag, and they can let you into the secured area. If your child needs you during service, we will send a text to your cell phone.

What is my child’s next step after salvation?

We are so excited for your child’s decision to follow Jesus! We want to help equip your child with a “Now What?” booklet, their very own Bible, and information about their next step–water baptism. Talk to one of our NVC Kids Dream Team members to get these resources.

We believe that a person should be baptized after they make a personal decision to follow Jesus. We want kids to understand the decision they are making, to take the decision seriously, and to make it on their own, so we recommend that they be at least six years old.
